Photo-less Post
Dear Diary,
Yes, we're OK, just a bit busy and trying to make the new apt. feel like home.
We moved last weekend to our new apt. and with help from some gentlemen from church it didn't take very long. I'm just thankful that we move frequently because we didn't have anything to get rid of but still lots of work.
We like our new apt. but it's by no means our "forever house". The balcony is quite a bit smaller and so is the living space although the bedrooms are bigger. It's 1138 square feet so more than big enough for the 5 of us.
The cats are not enjoying it because they can't go outside. We are on the ground floor but that means they can run off so we are keeping them indoors for a few months. Eventually we'll put some chicken wire around the balcony and then they can to out. In the meantime, we hear alot of whining to get outside.
We still hold the lease to our other apartment until June 6. Most of our things are out of it but I have to finish cleaning it and get the last bits and pieces brought to the new apartment. We'll miss the area, it's nicer than here but this area is much more convenient for us - closer to other people from church and Colin's work. I'm not worried, we'll adjust and Target and Walmart are both within walking distance!
I don't have latest photos to post but Isla is doing well. In fact, she's discovered that she can shout! She starts about 7 a.m. (I hear her on the monitor) and goes all day! We tell her to be quiet by putting fingers over her mouth and she listens to us. Colin even whispers to her and she does the same - too cute!
She's climbing on the futon but is having trouble getting off or at least I haven't really let her discover how to get off. Colin thinks I should just let her fall off but I don't care to have teeth through her lips etc. It's only asking for trouble if you ask me.
Colin's work is progressing. Last week was rather tense because we didn't know if we were staying in Colorado or not but between Colin's boss and the customer they have worked out their differences and we should be here a bit longer. It was a week that niether of us would like to repeat but on a positive note there are potentially three new customers. I think I may be losing him to Philadelphia this month!
Colin has spoken to our attorney concerning our green card and visa and they are well within their processing time. From her experience she thinks we should have it within the next couple of weeks (mid-June which would be great because as it stands now we can't leave the USA and we have plans to go to Canada the first of week of July. If we don't get it in time we'll go a bit later in the summer but we would like to go to Gail and Josh's wedding on the 1oth.
We haven't been up to anything exciting, just a lot of work and worrying so we hope to get out next weekend for a day. We all need a day off!
